CFC + HEP = Powerful

We are excited to announce a new partnership between the Clearwater Free Clinic and the Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP), two strong nonprofit agencies that have long sought to improve the lives of those needing help in our community.  As neighbors who share a common objective, it seemed only natural for the two organizations to work more closely together.

Health concerns can be a barrier to achieving a successful and independent lifestyle.  With the help of the Clearwater Free Clinic, qualified HEP residents will benefit by having access to comprehensive healthcare.  As the CFC is able to address the medical and emotional needs of the HEP residents, it is our hope that they will be assisted in their path to self-sufficiency.

In addition, the HEP will provide training in the Stanford University’s Model, Chronic Disease Self- Management Program (CDSMP) for two CFC volunteers.  HEP’s master trainer Tawny Swain Castle started this successful program at HEP and is going to provide the training and guidance for the CFC volunteers to implement this successful program at the Clinic.

Together, with services provided by both agencies, our patients/clients will benefit greatly from our combined services and interventions to promote well-being aNd create a healthier community.
