Annual John H. Meek, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament Returns to Belleair Country Club

Clearwater Free Clinic to host signature event on May 1, 2023 at the Belleair Country Club.

Clearwater, FL – On May 1, 2023, the Clearwater Free Clinic (CFC) will host the annual John H. Meek, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament at the Belleair Country Club. The tournament will take place on the newly renovated and exclusive West Course featuring a signature peninsula hole. All proceeds from the 23rd annual golf tournament benefit the Clinic’s mission to provide quality medical and behavioral health care to people in need in upper- and mid-Pinellas County.

The CFC invites all community partners, donors, avid golfers, and interested participants to sponsor the annual golf tournament and join us for a fun-filled day on the course. A tournament sponsorship includes tickets to the pre-event party, complimentary lunch and refreshments provided, exclusive recognition in event publications, listing as an event sponsor, tee signs, and opportunities to purchase Helicopter Golf Ball Drop tickets for a cash prize. In addition, golfing sponsorships include golf participation slots and non-golfing sponsorships include the opportunity to add golf participants—for an additional cost—if available.

For 8 years, the John H. Meek, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament has honored the memory of former board member, activist, and friend of the CFC, John H. Meek, Jr. The funds from the annual golf tournament have provided patients with quality care, behavioral health services, medications for chronic illnesses, specialty care, and diagnostic services free of cost.

Founded in 1977, the Clearwater Free Clinic provides comprehensive, integrated medical and behavioral health services to low-income uninsured residents of Pinellas County. Today, the Clinic supports nearly 4,000 patients each year and continues to be largely volunteer-driven. The CFC is the only free clinic in Pinellas County that sees children. The Clinic is located at 1218 Court Street in Clearwater and housed in an 11,000 sq. healthcare facility.
