Getting to Know Our Martinis & Matisse Committee Members Meet Missy Yates

Meet Missy Yates, a dedicated volunteer who has been helping make our signature event shine!

Her Role: Missy has previously served on the Restaurants Committee and the Set-Up Committee, and while she’s not yet sure which role she’ll take on this year, one thing’s certain—her enthusiasm and energy will make a big impact.

Her Why: This will be Missy’s third year volunteering for both Martinis & Matisse and the Clearwater Free Clinic. When asked what inspired her to get involved, she laughed and said, “Maria Christiano has a way of recruiting her friends!”

Behind the Scenes: Missy’s favorite part of planning? Working with fellow committee members and getting a sneak peek at the creative plans before the big reveal. She shared that people might not realize just how much time, effort, and creativity go into pulling off an event like this. Luckily, each committee always has strong leadership to keep things organized and energized.

What She’s Excited For: Missy can’t wait to see this year’s theme come to life!

Why It Matters: For Missy, Martinis & Matisse is more than a fun night—it’s about supporting the Clinic’s mission and ensuring patients receive the care they need. She says the event is important for the community because “this event supports all of the amazing services for the clients!”

Personal Connection: Though her connection to the Clinic started through Maria, Missy quickly embraced the mission. She loves working alongside the Clinic’s staff and volunteers, who she describes as “so friendly.”
