Jeannie Shapiro Retires After 26 Years of Service

After 26 years of dedicated service and leadership, Jeannie Shapiro has announced her retirement as CEO of the Clearwater Free Clinic (CFC). Jeannie has guided our organization through significant growth and continues to be a tireless advocate for the health and well-being for our community.

Since 1998, Shapiro has overseen numerous initiatives to expand access to healthcare for the underserved populations in the Pinellas area. Many of you have supported Jeannie with your time, talent, and treasure and contributed to this impressive growth.

During her 26 years, Jeannie has grown the Clinic from a small, four exam room facility on Fort Harrison, to an 11,000 sq. ft. comprehensive medical facility on Court Street with 17 exam rooms, a fully stocked on-site medications room, an integrated behavioral health program, an eye examination room, and laboratory—with plans to continue to expand and provide preventative health services. This growth is a testament to her leadership, and we are grateful for her work over the years.
