Keep Them Well
The “Keep Them Well” comprehensive campaign is an initiative to raise funds for the purchase, renovation, outfitting, and operations of the new Ruth and J O Stone Wellness Center at Clearwater Free Clinic. This expansion is designed to advance our mission by not only offering critical room to expand our essential primary, behavioral, and specialty medical care but also by enhancing our long-term wellness and preventative services. The funds will support dedicated spaces for programs such as behavioral health, physical and occupational therapy, a teaching kitchen, and group wellness sessions—ensuring that our patients and their families receive the tools and education needed to maintain lasting health. Through this campaign, Clearwater Free Clinic will move beyond treating illness to proactively keeping our community well, building healthier futures for patients and their families.
Teach Healthy Living
The teaching kitchen empowers patients with hands-on cooking skills and nutritional education. By partnering with local teaching kitchens and healthy living programs, this hub will offer diverse culinary experiences that enhance overall well-being and promote self-sufficiency in healthy living.
Our new teaching kitchen builds directly on our successful Food Clinic partnership with BayCare and Feeding Tampa Bay by transforming the fresh produce and pantry staples we distribute into hands-on culinary education. In the existing Food Clinic, powered by Feeding Tampa Bay, we serve over 100 families each week with fresh and canned items including proteins and vegetables; the teaching kitchen will allow patients to learn practical skills—like chopping, seasoning, and meal planning—so they can fully utilize these nutritious ingredients at home. By pairing our food distribution efforts with interactive, condition-tailored cooking classes, we empower patients not only to access healthy foods but to prepare them confidently, reinforcing long-term wellness and self-sufficiency.
Expand Physical and Occupational Therapy
Expanded physical therapy classes will provide a dedicated space with additional equipment, enabling hands-on, effective rehabilitation sessions led by NOVA Southeastern University faculty and students. This expansion addresses a clear community need by improving access to therapy that helps manage pain, restore mobility, and keep patients working. Of the 40% of our patient population not working, the majority are unable (not unwilling) to attain employment due to medical-related issues.
