What to expect at Martinis + Matisse - for a first timer.
What to Expect at Martinis + Matisse
If you’ve never been to Martinis + Matisse, you might be wondering what makes this annual evening one of the most anticipated events in Pinellas. For more than two decades, supporters of the Clearwater Free Clinic have come together to celebrate art, community, and compassion — all while raising critical funds to provide health care for our neighbors in need.
Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect if you’re joining us for the first time:
A One-of-a-Kind Atmosphere
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a vibrant mix of music, art, and mingling. The energy in the room is hard to describe — it’s equal parts art show, cocktail party, and community celebration. What not to expect: tables, auction, or list of speakers talking endlessly about the Clinic and our numbers from the past year. No assigned seats next to strangers, and most definitely no rubber chicken dinner.
Incredible Artwork
Each year, local and regional artists contribute stunning works ranging from paintings and sculptures to photography and mixed media. Guests have the chance to experience the art up close — and even take home a piece through our signature art drawing. If you come as a sponsor or their guest, you get early access at 6pm, a private show of sorts to experience the art and potentially speak directly with the artist. General Admission starts at 7, and expect a little check in or valet traffic (no more than ~15 minutes) as we get a few hundred people through the doors.
Delicious Food & Signature Martinis
You’ll sample a curated selection of small plates from local restaurants, paired with signature martinis and other craft beverages. It’s a chance to savor the best flavors our community has to offer.
The Art Drawing
The heart of the evening is the famed art drawing. With your ticket, you’re entered to win an original artwork donated by our talented artists. As names are called, guests get to select their piece — it’s exciting, fast-paced, and always memorable.
Supporting a Greater Mission
Most importantly, every sip, every conversation, and every piece of art supports the mission of the Clearwater Free Clinic: delivering free, high-quality medical care to uninsured adults and families in our community.
