A Path to Better Health: Jamar’s CFC Story

When Jamar talks about the Clearwater Free Clinic, he describes it as the place that helped him get his health back on track. Nearly three and a half years ago, he first learned about the Clinic through a friendship formed at LA Fitness. While working as a personal trainer, he met Bob, who encouraged him to come in, explained what paperwork he needed, and helped him take that first step. “Once I came up here, it was a wrap ever since,” he says. 

He arrived hoping to get established with a doctor and address stomach issues that had been bothering him. Sarah, his first provider, helped him begin a new health journey and set him on a path toward better wellness. Over time, the Clinic supported him through routine care, follow‑ups, and ongoing health needs. “Tremendously,” he says. “Excellent staff. I have no complaints.” 

What stands out most to him is how consistently supported he has felt. The Clinic helped him stabilize his health, understand his needs, and maintain a healthier lifestyle. “They got my health up to where I just maintain and keep striving in life,” he says. 

He encourages anyone without insurance to take advantage of the opportunity he once had. “If you’re a Pinellas County resident, come up here,” he says. “Put all your health concerns on the table, and they’ll take care of it. Dental, eyes, medical — it’s a great chance to get healthy.” 

His gratitude extends deeply to the donors who make the Clinic’s mission possible. “If I had a million dollars, I’d donate it right now,” he says. “I truly appreciate the donors. This place is excellent.”
