The Clearwater Free Clinic is entering the final stretch of the Ruth and J.O. Stone Wellness Center. As construction nears completion and programs prepare to launch, this next phase represents more than a new building. It is a shift toward long-term wellness, expanded access, and generational impact for patients across Pinellas County.

For nearly 50 years, Clearwater Free Clinic has grown from a small volunteer effort into a full-service healthcare home for thousands of uninsured neighbors. Now entering Phase 4, the Clinic is expanding beyond problem-focused care to include prevention and wellness—helping patients stay healthier, longer. From screenings and nutrition support to behavioral health and medication management, this next phase ensures that every patient has a true healthcare home, no matter where they are on their journey.

We’ve torn it up, now it’s time to start to rebuild.

The Keep Them Well Campaign exists to secure the resources required to build and operate the Ruth & J.O. Stone Wellness Center, expanding the Clearwater Free Clinic’s mission from treating illness to sustaining wellness for uninsured residents of Pinellas County.
